Poets & Patriots: A Tuneful History of “The Star-Spangled Banner” contains 37 tracks that trace the history of the U.S. national anthem from its origins in 1775/76 in London to Francis Scott Key writing lyrics in the Chesapeake Bay through its symbolic resonance during the U.S. Civil War through its official status as anthem by act of Congress in 1931. It is a project of the Star Spangled Music Foundation purchase here or through your favorite digital music service (iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, Spotify, etc.).

    I’m watching “Myths Surrounding The Star-Spangled Banner. I am in awe of the vast history of the song. My daughter Aubrey Alvino has performed at several venues singing this song. I would like to share a link for you to listen to.
